The Oneida County Health Department is the fiscal agent for the Northwoods Tobacco-Free Coalition which is a tobacco control and prevention coalition serving Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Florence, Price and Lincoln counties. Together these seven counties work to address tobacco related health concerns within the community.
Their focus areas are on:
- Outreach and education to local and state leaders
- Addressing the dangers of other tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes
- Smoke free air and multi-unit housing
- Work with local youth at Rhinelander High School and James Williams Middle School to conduct peer to peer education through the FACT & CHANGE group
- Addressing tobacco related disparities within the community
- WI WINS tobacco compliance checks
